An archetype is “a universal set of roles, situations, and themes that are recognizable to everyone,” says Carol Pearson and Hugh Marr in What Story Are You Living? Archetypes are similar to psychological types. They’re how we live our lives: our common stories in the world have similar themes, characters, and plots. Jung’s archetypes are the foundation of this workbook and the Pearson-Marr Archetype Indicator.
